-"Will, I don't wanna get too technical, but WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST DO?"

-"Relax Rex! I felt threatened by this acolyte so I just threw Franklin (Franklin is my old teddy bear, don't ask!) at him as a distraction and it worked! So,then I cut him in half with my machete and now allow me to search for...Franklin?!! Is that you? What did they do to you my poor friend you're too bloody! Alas my poor Franklin...

-"You're a sick weird guy, William Yorick!"

-"Yeah! Now why don't you investigate the place while I clean Franklin?"

Hello everyboy, welcome to my second deck on ArkhamDB! I'm still french, so forgive me if my english is not what I'd like it to be!

Today I will tackle William Yorick and the first upgrade I choose for him: Cornered. I choose Cornered because it helps speed up your game and augments your efficiency.

With Cornered you transform every asset you have in your hand into an Unexpected Courage and if you're fighting an enemy and kill him you can play the asset from your discard pile! 2 in one!

In the exemple you fight an Acolyte with your Machete, with Cornered you discard your Cherished Keepsake for +2 you kill the Acolyte then play the Cherished Keepsake! So I have 16 assets, 5 weapons which seems enough and the classic yorick stuff (Cherished Keepsake, Leather Coat and Guard Dogs(replaced later by Beat Cop 2).

Events are here to help you get enemies away from your friends and right in front of your machete(On the Hunt and Let me handle this) or collect clues because I like to be able to participate in all aspects of the adventure (hence Scene of the Crime, Evidence! and Flashlight).

And with your you can take them back in your hand! ;) With the skill cards, I wanted Take Heart to be able to investigate high-level shroud locations, fail and get 2 card and 2 resources for 1 action and 1 card! Stunning Blow is here for bosses, nothing too original I think. Let me Know what you think of my deck and share with me your ideas on how upgrading him!

Hi mogwen,

This looks like a great Yorick deck to me! I think you chose the right weapons, you've got all the essentials, and none of the cards here are weak. It should play well. I'd expect Cornered to be great here.

If I could make a few suggestions:

--The most important thing I would suggest is another Emergency Cache. This is the resource-hungriest investigator in the game, and he only gets more resource-hungry as more XP comes in and you can start recurring stuff like Beat Cop II (which is incredibly poowerful). So definitely two of these.

--I would avoid expensive events like Scene of the Crime. I know this card is pretty good and a nice combo with On the Hunt but you just have so much else you need to do with your money. Of course if the rest of the group is really weak on investigation you can keep it.

--Smoking Pipe: I would probably just take a third ally (maybe a cheaper one like Labranche), which would provide better durability.

--Resourceful: I don't see anything amazing to recur, and you can obviously get your assets back without this. I think it's skippable. Might I suggest Overpower instead, to help you fight and to help you draw your key cards?

--Stunning Blow: This card is OK, but I think Lucky! is just better.

But these are minor suggestions--overall I think this is a correctly constructed Yorick deck, and would play very well as it is.

For upgrades, Beat Cop II is a very high priority. I'm a believer in Ever Vigilant for Yorick (in addition to Emergency Cache, not replacing it.) Eventually, Charisma and more allies is good for him. More Guard Dogs, Aquinnah IIIs, Red-Gloved Men... lots of cool options here.

The upgraded .45 Automatic is fine and worth picking up but less than spectacular.

Obviously, Key of Ys + Yorick is incredibly broken. If you do go down this route Relic Hunter (for Cherished Keepsake) and Peter Sylvestre II are what you want. However, I don't recommend this build, as it is absurdly unbalanced and has a strong tendency to completely ruin the game.

Well, Thank you for your feedback! Where to begin?

Another Emergency Cache is of course important even if I have Take Heart! I will see to it! The clue finding events are expected to leave as soon as my partners will have more options. Obviously right for Smoking Pipe and Madame Labranche, thank you!

Resourceful is here for the moment to bring back Take Heart for more cards and resources and Stunning Blow for tricky fights, later it will serve for Lucky(2)!

For upgrades I agree with you on Beat Cop II, it will replace Guard Dogs. Aquinnah III is a wonderful card for William, I will probably replace Madame Labranche with her!

.45 Automatic is not necessary for me at the moment and of course I will not use Key Of Ys because I want all the players to have fun (I only run Key of Ys in Calvin Wright Decks by the way), not just me!

The one upgrade I'm longing for is Police Badge because it 's either more actions for me to kill things or more actions for my allies to win the scenario. I find it interesting to play survivor without Peter Sylvestre, He's such an obvious play in most decks! I would like to run this deck with Carolyn, she's such a perfect complement to William!!
