Deck Overview

This is a main cluever build for a two-player team on Standard difficulty. The deck revolves around String Along, aiming to trigger Lucius’s reaction ability every turn through a consistent evade.

With Pickpocketing in play, a single (over)successful evade nets us a resource, a card, and a clue. Dial of Ancients with the Signs of Aberration helps mitigate the risk of continiously using String Along.

The deck runs a high asset count and needs some setup, so I included a few ways to recoup actions. Shortcut, Hiking Boots, and "I'll take that!" help us keep tempo while building our board. Once established, the deck generates steady value turn after turn through repeatable evasion triggers.

For clue support, Forensic Kit and Thieves' Kit leverage our high agility to investigate reliably. Boosts from Hiking Boots and Alton O'Connell support both the evade plan and clue gathering.

Finally, Memories of Another Life Life gives us access to a small toolbox, allowing us to adapt on the fly to unexpected circumstances and cover gaps when things don’t go according to plan.

Memories from Another Life

Here are some options to consider when using Memories of Another Life:

Alternative Upgrades

Memories is very expensive. Another good use for that XP, and one I suspect will make the deck undeniably better, is replacing Alton with Gené Beauregard.

Breaking and Entering (2) might be good too. It easily grants two clues for one action and will frequently find its way back into your hand. However, you’ll need a stronger focus on economy to be able to keep playing it. Edit: you will not get 2 clues, so it works better as an emergency button for when you draw a second enemy while already engaged with another (similar to Lightfooted)

Flexible slots

You can safely play around with these cards without changing the core of the deck:

This seems like a great fun and I have done something similar with String Along, and Pickpocketing to power my economy before.

I do have concerns about Dreams of the Flood with high card draw. I think this combo and the great investigator ability work extremely well together but as you are expressly collecting clues and drawing cards is the risk of shuffling your weakness into an increasingly small deck something that has hurt you?

@Someguy842 hi! Yes, Lucious weakness has proven to be a real challenge for the deck. Grabbing Something Worth Fighting For from Memories is very common, but the safest path I have found is to give the other Investigator some tools to support Lucious. For example, Will Yorick can give out a Talisman of Protection over and over again latter in the scenario.

Highly recommend Peter Sylvestre as a Memories target - needs Charisma, but comes with a static boost on your most important stat, and also solves the Dreams problem very neatly.

Breaking and Entering does not provide additional clues from Lucius's ability, because a successful evade ≠ an automatic evade

@Shandras thanks! That is actually an excellent idea!

@Consatntinyou are right. Thanks.
