This deck has been carefully curated for a player-campaign as the main #fighter The team will consist of Jacqueline Fine as a #Flex investigator who will help in healing, Marion Tavares as a #Support investigator, Lucius Galloway as the main #Cluever / #EnemeyManagement and Hank Samson as the main #fighter and #damage / #horror soak of the team.

The purpose of this deck is to kill enemies first or foremost but also to soak damage and horror from the team that Hank Samson can then heal or mitigate with his card abilities.

The strategy I am going with for this deck is the following:

1) Fighting

To make sure of constantly having something to fight with, I opted for 2 weapons that double as tools & that can alternately be used to kill enemies. To achieve that, I added one Tool Belt. Pitchfork is the main weapon of choice as it provides a a consistent +1 fist boost and 3 damage which is more than enough to deal with most basic enemies. Whenever I lose control of the #pitchfork and an enemy is still in play, I can swiftly switch to my secondary weapon the Sledgehammer which will make sure to eliminate any enemies that are left.

As we advance in the campaign, the #pitchfork will be replaced by the Chainsaw which eliminates the need to take an extra action each turn to take control of the Pitchfork, and the (level 0) Sledgehammer will be replaced by the advanced more robust (level 4) Sledgehammer which will provide a sure way to eliminate big enemies swiftly.

To ensure reliability of and consistency, some fun gimmicks have been added. Act of Desperation will be used to discard a weapon whenever resources are needed and then using Pushed to the Limit, we will use that same weapon to attack and shuffle it back to my deck. In some instances, Improvised Weapon will be used to deal with smaller enemies who are easy to kill.

2) Survivability

Hank Samson's biggest flaw is his limited survivability and as such, much thought was put into that aspect of the deck to ensure that he does not melt like a snowflake at the first mythos phase.

To begin with, I went with the traditional combo of OP allies Jessica Hyde & Peter Sylvestre. For that one Charisma will be needed. The first upgrades of this deck need to be oriented in that direction as these will provide the most consistency in terms of damage and horror management since they will passively and reliably auto-heal any damage or horror that you take or soak from your team members.
To fast track, I decided to go with one copy of In the Thick of It and add Jessica Hyde from the get-go. The Cherished Keepsake will just be a place holder for Peter Sylvestre.

Second, some cards with standard healing will be used for this deck to heal the non-resolute version of Hank Samson such as Ready for Anything for healing horror and drawing cards, Second Wind for healing damage and drawing cards. At some point, Second Wind level 2 can be acquired for more healing. Depending on the progress of the game, either Pushed to the Limit or Improvised Weapon can be switched with "I've had worse…" for better damage/horror mitigation and resource generation.

Finally, Perseverance is added to prevent Hank's resolute version from dying. This would be the card that can be used as a last resort.

3) Drawing Cards and Getting Resources

When it comes to drawing cards, I made sure to add many cards that will allow me to do so passively or as a ; we start by Glory which will give me 2 cards when I defeat an enemy; YES PLEASE!, both Ready for Anything and Second Wind will also allow me to draw cards while healing which makes the healing action more bearable and rewarding. Finally, almost all of the skill cards incorporated in this deck will result in a card draw such as Take Heart, Daring & Overpower. At some point, #long can also be replaced by Unrelenting to ensure additional card draw but this is not a must.

As for resource generation, we will have it in abundance: First, a basic Emergency Cache that will be upgraded later into Emergency Cache (level 3) which can give resources or load supplies on my Chainsaw if and when needed. Second, Act of Desperation is a sure way to recycle your weapons and get resources that can be used to pay for your more expensive cards such as allies in addition to doing some additional damage. Finally, Take Heart is the best way to turn a guaranteed failed test into 2 resources and 2 cards

CONCLUSION

With this deck, I am trying something new and daring. I put so much thought into each card and I am hopeful that it will generate good result and allow me to carry my team into victory. I want to see Farm Boy Hank Samson live up to his full potential and become an actual Monster Slayer.

I will keep updating how this deck is being upgraded depending on campaign performance.
