Opening Hand: Lucky!, Last Chance, Newspaper, Lantern, Last Chance

The above is pretty much the perfect opening hand for our visit in the museum. I'll have Rita attempt to break and enter first, because that approach not only gives her an useful ally later in the scenario, but also allows her to pick clues from the entrance and the go to the halls without detours.

Rita's Boardstate: 9 health, 5 sanity, 3 resources, 0 clues

In Play: Peter Sylvestre, Newspaper, Lantern)

In Hand: Lucky!, Track Shoes, Waylay

Infinite Doorway! It's one of the best encounter cards designed for the Return to Dunwich. It slowly chips away at your deck and sanity and if it weren't for Peter Sylvestre I would be considering resigning soon. As things stand now, Rita is making excellent progress and it would a shame to waste it.

Rita's Boardstate: 5 health, 2 sanity, 7 resources, 0 clues

In Play: Peter Sylvestre, Harold Walsted, Newspaper, Lantern, Track Shoes

In Hand: Lucky!, Waylay, Peter Sylvestre, Cornered, Madame Labranche

Peter! Peter! Peter! I feel like cheering for the Big Man on Campus because he's clearly the MVP of this scenario. Notice that I haven't been using Madame Labranche much, despite having both her and Cornered. Perhaps their time to shine will come later. The Hunting Horror is quite small, but honestly Rita can reliably defeat it once. This is why I took care to evade it until this point and spent all clues to ensure that Newspaper is always useful. In any case, it's hopefully the last encounter card pull, because at this point it would be rather hard to retreat safely.

EDIT: It turns out there's a misplay in round #10. "I'm done runnin'!" in conjunction with Rita's ability can be used to deal two damage in one evasion, which means there was no need to wait until the next turn to investigate.

Rita manages to complete her investigation whilst pulling a -4 token. It's not something you see of often, is it?

Campaign Log:

Extracurricular Activity: The students were rescued. Professor Warren Rice was kidnapped. 3 XP (Vassal of the Lurker, Orne Library, Dormitories).

The House Always Wins: Naomi has Rita’s back. Dr. Francis Morgan was kidnapped. Rita rescued Dr. Henry Armitage. 4 XP (Servant of the Lurker, Art Gallery, VIP Area, Back Alley).

The Miskatonic Museum: Rita destroyed the Necronomicon. 4 XP (Nature Exhibit, Hall of the Dead, Restricted Hall, Medieval Exhibit).

Great write up.

Question: In #8, shouldn't you have taken 2 horror, 2 damage due to Dark Bidding? I assumed that would attach to the Void, so it would be attached to the Horror when it comes into play (wording about "even if it's out of play"). It wouldn't have mattered in the end, but just curious. Did you just discard the card or forget to apply it?

No. As it turns out Dark Bidding needs to "see" Hunting Horror to be able to attach, If it is still in the encounter deck nothing happens.
