Design/Restrictions Note
This deck is restricted to using only 1 Core Set (as I do not own a second). As a consequence of that, it only includes one Unexpected Courage, since my friend and I have a norm of taking one of these for each of us when we play.
The goal of this deck is to be fairly reliable as either an investigator or a fighter.
The deck is designed to be used with a mystic, which is why there are no mystic cards included. Ideally, the other investigator would be somewhat balanced in their clue gathering and combat potential (and this is one area where I believe the mystic class excels).
The deck is meant to be viable on standard difficulty, but it is by no means an attempt at min-maxing. A true seeker with upgraded strange solution would likely be better for both combat and investigating in the long term.
Dark Horse This does great in bumping Lola to a respectable 4 stat block across the board. Most cards in this deck cost between 0 - 2 to maximize how often we get the Dark Horse Bonus.
Card Spread To maximize the number of neutral cards in the deck to be used without needing to change roles, this deck only takes the minimum of 7 cards from each of the main classes included.
Strategy Note
Mulligan - Mulligan for Dark Horse. Usually, the only cards to keep are (1) Dark Horse; (2) Improvisation; (3) Weapon; (4) Magnifying Glass.
Shielding - We're going to be packing a good number of allies to serve as a meat shield since Lola's HP and Sanity are so low. For this reason, an early charisma would be useful. Fine clothes also help a bit in this regard. Also, calling in favors and a chance encounter help with keeping allies churning out.
Calling in Favors Combo Art Student + Calling in Favors. You Play Art Student, pick it up with Calling in Favors, and search for another ally before replaying the Art Student. Gives you pretty solid clue getting potential without having to rely on checks.
No Stone Unturned Combo This card should ideally be used to search for Dark Horse or Improvisation, though other cards (particularly the hand assets in our deck) wouldn't be unwelcome.
Improvisation Combo Some of the Cards in our deck are a bit pricey given the Dark Horse build. This is why Improvisation should ideally be saved to play the costlier cards in our deck (Dark Horse, Machete, Dr. Milan Christopher.
