My first attempt at creating a Finn Edwards deck, and intended to be paired with a solid clue-gatherer like Ursula Downs to take on The Forgotten Age.

The plan is to play to Finn's strengths by evading any enemies encountered, then hammering them with events and his small array of weapons. I feel like I've managed to fit in a decent amount of card draw (through Rabbit's Foot, Pickpocketing and Decorated Skull), resource generation (through Burglary, Emergency Cache and - again - Decorated Skull) and skill cards, as well as the (nearly essential) inclusion of Leo De Luca for the excellent action advantage.

I was sorely tempted to include Knuckleduster in place of Switchblade just to give some use to a much-maligned card (particularly as exhausted enemies can't retaliate), but chickened out in the end.

You'll notice there's nothing here to boost his meagre of 1... which means he's entirely at the mercy of the mythos. What's the worst that could happen...?*

I'll be testing him out soon, any suggestions for improvements welcome!

Looks like you have 2 out of faction slots spare. Have you considered swapping leo out for Peter Sylvestre? I know we all love leo, but you can Adaptable him in, or just pay for Leo De Luca (1) later on in the campaign.

From your description you plan to evade plenty so the passive + taking you to 5 base will give you good odds on enemies with upto 3 on standard mode (where you basically want to be 2 above the test strength).

The Big Man also offers a little horror repair letting you take some of those horror tests on the chin.

At which point if you are successfully evading the Knuckleduster starts to come into play. I wonder how easilly you will land the blow though. If you want to go down the damage rout i think youve done the right thing with damage events. Once you can spend xp on Lupara you`ll be able to over write the weapons a bit and get something a bit more accurate in play removing the question at least.

Sorry missed a key point regarding some minor encounter deck spoilers. Stop reading here if you dont want to know it. No really stop reading. Ok thats enough warning. As I think everyone expected from the jungle theme, the agi boost will also protect you from some quite nasty encounter cards. So Finn is trading will hits for agi protection. The BMOC plays into both but in different ways essentially.

Great advice, thanks @StartWithTheName. I think I rather lazily went for everybody's favourite lion as the main ally, but you're totally right that in almost every way Peter Sylvestre makes a more logical choice. I'll do a straight swap. Well pointed out that the weapon upgrade tree makes for some exciting possibilities here. I imagine it'll be a lot of fun to Sleight of Hand the Lupara when the time comes. Thanks again.

hehe Sleight of Hand is great. Oddly enough ive been using it on Flashlight in Finn with a good bit of success as it happens. 5 or 6 actions at effectively 6 for a single install actions is surprisingly time efficient if you can use it for at least a couple of your actions that turn. Buys you time until the Lockpicks turn up at least. Its always good to have double uses for these things.

Yes, Lockpicks is such a superb card it's hard to imagine a deck that can take it that doesn't? But I genuinely hadn't even thought of recurring the Flashlight that way... so that's another trick to look forward to. Really glad to get such good advice to tweak this build.
