The idea of this deck is to use the unupgraded version of Ravenous Myconid and Higher Education to duplicate resources. With Uncanny Growth, every point you succeed by turns into a resource, which translates to 2 or from Higher Education. The only risk of this is the , which can be avoided with Analysis. This doubles your resources every turn (One action to add Uncanny Growth, one action to investigate, and one action to move the resources from the Ravenous Myconid to your resource pool).
To gain some initial resources, use Emergency Cache and Crack the Case, along with Unearth the Ancients to play the essential assets such as Ravenous Myconid and Archaic Glyphs. Furthermore, Drawing Thin increases the difficulty of the skill test by 2 but it also gives you 2 resources, which translates to 4 skill values from Higher Education. Meaning that each drawing thin is a flat +2 stat boost.
Once you duplicate enough resources, you can use Archaic Glyphs and Higher Education to gobble up all the clues at a location in just one action. This is especially the case in 3-4 player campaigns, where one location can have 8+ clues.
The downside of this money machine is that Ravenous Myconid uses a lot of actions, this is why we have Leo De Luca, Press Pass, and Pathfinder. Press Pass combos with
- Forewarned to cancel annoying treacheries such as Ancient Evil.
- Captivating Discovery to search for the Myconid and Glyphs in case you don't have it in hand and some extra draw.
- Analysis to prevent autofails when you have 10+ resources invested in a skill test.
Dropping clues shouldn't be a issue anyways since you can just spend an extra resource to pick it back up with Archaic Glyphs.
All is cool, but being Rex Murphy, you could include Teamwork or Embezzled Treasure or both, so you could make use of those resources for something.
