Nothing too fancy, just toying around with a versatile and quite defensive deck that aims at making guest star Katana both viable and fun, at least at Normal difficulty.
Also, it uses my favorite themes for Mystic : Chaos Bag manipulation and dealing with the Mythos Deck head on.
Mulligan for 8 cost total assets a a starting hand, prioritizing your fighting assets. Many options are possible.
Main ideas :
-
Have 3 different Fight options in order to trigger your Balance of Body Discipline (Blessed Blade, Katana, and Brand of Cthugha - Sweeping Kick under Stick to the Plan for emergency cases or boss fights that would last for more than 1 round)
-
Tabooed Ritual Candles are used either to mitigate bad symbols, or to try to get to succeed by 2 with Katana.
-
Bless token generation (Purified, Holy Rosary and Blessed Blade) in conjunction with Olive McBride and Sacred Covenant will help you to achieve aforementionned succeed by 2 you can choose which tokens to keep with your dear witch friend considering your ability to trigger both Ritual Candles and Sacred Covenant.... or not ! Also, you could trigger the candles for their boost on a Bless token draw and then use Sacred Covenant to return the Bless token to the chaos bag, Also also, the aforementionned setup helps you almost entirely mitigate the dreaded !
-
Keep a relatively low cost average, to help trigger favorable Ever Vigilant ready mulligans.
-
Pass all the tests that the Mythos Deck throws at you, and cancel the rest with Ward of Radiance.
-
Get the occasional clues with Sixth Sense and Drawn to the Flame.
-
Holy Rosary is your best friend cheap, soaks horror, boosts in order to allow reasonable Sixth Sense usage together with Bandolier, helps you pass tests and rewards you for it.
Optional : I could see an alternative option of going for Blessing of Isis in order to keep flipping Balance of Body one turn after the other but I am relunctant to use it for its "comboish" nature. Maybe as a wild one-off ?
That's all folks ! Please don't be too harsh with me (first published deck) and don't hesitate to throw in your ideas on the subject as well, i'm sure some of you have been trying to give Katana + Lily a try !
Great Katana deck and very happy to see Galvanize getting some love!
