This deck started out as a clone from the Playing Board Games' "God-Warrier Zoey (Guardian Blessed)" deck. Zoey was paired with a Wendy Adams deck (parallel) that was also pouring into the bag like wild, in a Return to the Path to Carcosa campaign.
I'll be honest, this deck did not actually get the full set of upgrades intended for it. The XP gains were really tight. Money though is not a huge problem here, which is nice, so long as you engage enemies (which you absolutely should be doing as Zoey).
When this deck sings, it really is devastating--several rounds in several scenarios I was able to deal 6-10 damage--but when the pieces aren't lining up right, it can really be a rough go. Still, we had a lot of fun with it.
As for piloting, once you have it the Holy Spear is what this entire deck revolves around. It's a consistent 2/3-damage dealer; in most scenarios you can toggle back and forth between those abilities to still leave tons of tokens in the bag. Mulligan hard for it, with Prepared for the Worst as the second best option to find it fast, and Tetsuo Mori as a third opportunity for it. As for your other weapons, Enchanted Blade and Blessed Blade are both good, though the former quickly loses its ability to deal extra damage if it's all you've got, and the extra damage on the latter is conditional but, quite frequently happens.
Every skill in this deck is Practiced, making Practice Makes Perfect that much better, even. On a fight test, you'll always find something (assuming it turns up a skill at all) that will match icons.
Recommended upgrade order
- Sacred Covenant [+2 XP, 2 XP total]
- Enchanted Blade --> Holy Spear [+10 XP, 12 XP total]
- "Get over here!" --> Righteous Hunt [+2 XP, 14 XP total]
- Bandolier --> Bandolier (2) [+4 XP, 18 XP total]
- Vicious Blow --> Vicious Blow (2) [+4 XP, 22 XP total]
- "Let me handle this!" --> Radiant Smite [+2 XP, 24 XP total]
Notes:
- Because Zoey was paired with another investigator running a lot of blessed cards, Favor of the Sun wasn't in this deck, but was in Wendy's. A worthwhile option if running the blessed on your own.
- Leadership could be replaced with Fighting Lessons as a starting card if that would be more practical based on your campaign/investigator combo.
- Overpower could be upgraded to Overpower (2) for good card draw support, useful for finding weapons.
- Nephthys was on the to-do list, but I didn't have enough XP when push came to shove. Ditto Blessing of Isis.
Hope you like this, have fun with it. Let me know how it went (and if you have any remarks!)
