William Yorick Found Religion: Blessings on your Broken Head

BORN AGAIN!

Willie's been spending a lot of time at the graveyard.

This is obviously a thematic build for Willie and lord knows if it's a good one or not. But at least Zoey Samaras and Sister Mary may have someone else in Arkham to talk to now.

The idea is to load up Big Will with as many BLESS cards as he can handle and fill that chaos bag with tokens, while still trying to fill his role as a heavy-hitter. I have a feeling that it could use another resource generator or two, otherwise he may have to count on a lot of donors filling his collection plate. But this works as is and is fun to play him a little 'enthusiastic' at the game table, even if you're not playing with the bless/curse-laden bag of Innsmouth.

Let's see how far he's gone to the other side...

ASSETS

Blessed Blade and Book of Psalms, Sister Mary's staples, find a home here to start to load things up. William doesn't have the advantage of Olive McBride to surf through the bag to make sure he's pulling a bless token with as much regularity as the nun, so the solution? Throw more bless cards in his deck!

The .35 Winchester and Enchanted Blade are there to make sure he's got options for weapons since we're keeping his fighter focus. And to make sure he has at least one bless-oriented card in a hand slot, we have enough room for one Bandolier. Will be better when we upgrade...which is good because the Winchester is so fun to play that way.

Toying with one Rite of Sanctification in an Arcane slot, mainly for theme. Could add another Emergency Cache instead but why not add some colour.

Token of Faith will keep the blessings going and is a key to keeping the chaos bag as filled as possible with bless tokens.

Finally, Grete Wagner, who's expensive as heck but fits the fanatic mode we're going for and has a useful ability.

EVENTS

First, the thematic ones - Hand of Fate and Keep Faith are good bless-loaders, and A Glimmer of Hope and Lucky! might mean that someone is smiling down on you - or at least convincing you that someone's smiling down on you, for a small price:)

Act of Desperation and Emergency Cache show us that the "praise...and pass the ammunition" stockpiling character of Will isn't "buried too deep".

SKILLS

Will's not a great clue-getter, so howabout throwing Predestined into an investigation action, and at least he'll feel that those "elites" who go around researching things are inferior people because at least Will is chosen by a higher power? Then we get back to some nuts-and-bolts with Resourceful, that will help Keep Faith come back to mind.

Finally it's controversial but maybe Will does have an Inspiring Presence. Will keep Greta happy a little longer.

ALTERNATES

Scrounge for Supplies might have been nice to recur Hand of Fate, and seems weird to build Will without boosts like Overpower and the throwaways Cherished Keepsake and Leather Coat. But hey, he's evolving and like they said in "Superstar", he's got Heaven On His Mind.

UPGRADES

A few options but first I'd upgrade to Bandolier(2)....better chance of getting the Blade/Book/Winchester combo up, then you're laughing.

Extra Ammunition, an upgraded Lucky!, Signum Crucis, Shield of Faith, and Relic Hunter to add a Police Badge are all good priorities.

After that we can look at a heavier weapon of your choice...then I'd look to the heavens and ask...WWWD....
