Hammer of the Gods

6 XP co-operative Guardian deck for 2 or more investigators that brings the fight to your enemies while providing support to your allies.

Current Version .8 This idea is currently being tested by myself and a few people in my area. Feel free to provide feedback.

Requires 2x Core Sets, as well as 1x of each of the expansions from the Dunwhich Legacy Cycle.

Deck Composition

There are 4x Weapon Assets in the deck, and your one job is to exterminate your foe with prejudice, so mulligan aggressively for one.

  • 1x Lightning Gun Even creatures unimaginable shall know and fear the power of the divine. Wield the power of Heaven and lay low the most foul of foe.

  • 1x .45 Automatic Reliable and effective. Although it is no consecrated blade, it will serve you well until you find your "holy sword" or are armed with the power of Heaven.

  • 2x Machete A consecrated blade to beat back the darkness. Fight with ferocity and you shall be victorious.

  • 2x Prepared for the Worst Reach out and seize the sword to smite your enemy. If you begin your quest with one of these and do not find a trusty sword, then strongly consider having some faith and keeping this safe.

Since this deck is focused entirely on the annihilation of the enemy, it includes skills to support your endeavors.

  • 2x Overpower Rise to the task at hand. Surge forth and defeat the enemy.

  • 1x Bandolier May this also guard you against the chill of death. Some may gawk at you, but let not the vanity of fashion give you even a moments pause for it takes two strong hands to wield the power of Heaven.

  • 2x Dodge The will of the Divine shall guide you and your allies in your quest. This boon shall keep you in the fight and give your foes no respite from judgement.

  • 1x Extra Ammunition A necessity to re-arm yourself with the might of Heaven. Worry not what others may say, for it takes perseverance to wield the might of Heaven.

  • 1x Contraband Charity can be its own reward. Know when to give and when to take and you shall wield a power that all shall respect.

  • 2x Vicious Blow Lay low the wicked.

  • 2x Taunt Stand strong against the turmoil within. Save your energy as your foes come to you, only to be struck down for their vanity.

Although Zoey Samaras' sanity will be tested in her journey, she can find succor in the virtues of the divine.

  • 2x Beat Cop Bravery inspires others to deeds of greatness. A stalwart soul to ward off the darkness, who may just sacrifice himself finish off a foe.

  • 1x "If it bleeds..." Victory inspires confidence. With confidence, redemption.

One must know when to fight and when to lay down arms. In this temperance, you shall know greatness.

  • 2x Drawn to the Flame Answer His call, for he shall guide you to glory.

  • 2x Emergency Cache Faith offers its own reward.

  • 2x Shortcut In your quest, you will need speed. Save your friends and hunt your enemies.

  • 2x Unexpected Courage Steel yourself against the darkness. Arm yourself in courage and you will prevail.

  • 2x Leadership Shine like a beacon of hope. Inspire the meek. Shield the weak.

Overall, I really like this deck.

The only change I might make would be to swap in Knife for Machete. Don't get me wrong, I love Machete; but it seems like you often won't be able to take advantage of its extra damage effect since - because of Zoey's bonuses for engaging - you will frequently be engaged with multiple enemies. Even more so with Taunt in the deck. Knife also helps mitigate the costliness of some of the other weapon cards.

And though it probably won't happen terribly often, your enemies will cower in fear if you can pull off Lightning Gun -> Extra Ammunition -> Contraband. Take that, boss monsters!

A knife is an idea, although I don't know if I would be very eager to lose my machete. I could see an argument for dropping the .44 for a knife though! Might be worth a shot.

Thus far I have had the dream of extra ammo contraband happen once, but I think it will be pretty reliable when you are packing two extra ammo. Right now it is the card I am probably least happy with at 6xp, but it might be way more reliable at 7 xp.
