Hunch Deck:
- 2x Delay the Inevitable
- 2x No Stone Unturned
- 2x Preposterous Sketches
- 2x Scene of the Crime
- 2x Working a Hunch
- 1x Unsolved Case
Non Hunch Events:
Upgrade Path:
- Higher Education (3 XP)
- Charisma (3 XP)
- 2x Vicious Blow 2x Vicious Blow (2 XP each)
- 2x No Stone Unturned 2x Cryptic Research (4 XP each)
- 2x Magnifying Glasss 2x Magnifying Glass (1 XP each)
- 2x Curiosity 2x Pathfinder (1 XP each)
- 2x Preposterous Sketches 2x No Stone Unturned (5 XP each)
[NOTE: In general, it makes the most sense to purchase the larger XP cards at moments where you can afford them along with the lower XP ones. So for example if I manage to earn 5 Victory in the 2nd or 3rd Scenario, I'll grab a Cryptic Research even if I haven't upgraded to my second Vicious Blow yet].
Additional Notes:
Logical Reasoning stays in our main deck as a pseudo-Guts, with the extra caveat of horror healing when we need it. Delay the Inevitable is useful against Joe's low sanity, but, because of the aforementioned Logical Reasoning, is often suited against damage. You should have the resources to pay the cost for a turn or two if you need to time it better than the hunch deck allowed.
You may want to consider some swaps for different campaigns. Agility is Joe's real weakness, so some Mind over Matter in place of .45 Automatic and Manual Dexterity in place of Vicious Blow may be worth considering for The Forgotten Age. Combat Training or Hyperawareness would also be essential in such a campaign.
