Oh my god, my first deck on DB! :D Normally I just borrow deckbuilding ideas from the online community on here who are easily far better than I am at it!

But needs must, I have a Guardians of the Abyss event to go to at the UK Games Expo in a week and I've never tried it before and probably will never get the chance outside of a convention so I'm using this opportunity while I can given that Drawn to the Flame is hosting.

Now whether it's Arkham LCG or LOTR LCG I'm a true solo player normally........ah that causes issues already having little to no multiplayer experience outside of a 4 player campaign once and me playing Carcosa two-handed. So this is new territory for me. So if I got standalone rules wrong, let me know, is 3 basic weaknesses right? Sounds like a lot!

When I play these kind of games I'm very much a team player, help others to be awesome while I do my thing and get praised for it! :P

So Guardian naturally suits my playstyle the most out of all the factions. But Carolyn intrigued me as she's clearly not a solo investigator and therefore this is the perfect chance for me to try her out properly. General theme when building the deck, heal horror from everyone, boost their resources/card draw and be a damage/sanity tank while still hoovering up clues where possible. I'm a psychologist, not a fighter so naturally my ability to deal with enemies is next to non-existant, but hopefully I'm standing next to my buddy armed with a big knife or gun.

I've taken some ideas from other decks but mainly gone my own route. I don't want the whole Sylvester/Forbidden system in my deck so I'm looking more at clue harvesting as well as team assistance. Here's some reasons for my choices and hopefully you guys can help me fine tweak it.

Skills

Not much room here and I would have liked to try Fearless or it's upgraded version for horror healing, but it's hard to turn down Deduction and Eureka! is another team-player card.

Events

Ward of Protection is more of a cheap mitigation of the encounter deck, never hurts and it gives me some space to heal horror afterwards.

Stand Together is awesome - nuff said.

Ever Vigilant and Emergency Cache x 2 get put on Stick to the Plan at the start - easy access to mass resources or charges on assets as well as a way to spam cheaper assets in the early game, man I love that permanent!

Dynamite Blast is the emergency room clearance card.

"Let me handle this!" - again team player and I can soak a bunch of sanity and even a bit of damage also especially with True Grit.

Logical Reasoning - heals horror or Terror, nuff said.

Assets

Fingerprint Kit and Magnifying Glass with Dr. Milan Christopher are self expanatory

St. Hubert's Key pairs nicely with her best stats

First Aid - well duh!

Liquid Courage - wondering if I need this desperately but it's a cheap source of healing horror even if there's a potential downside - plus I do like building decks with theme involved.

Fine Clothes - had some space and parlay actions come into play a lot now - however if Parlay doesn't feature much in Guardians of the Abyss then this can be the first card to go.

Thanks for reading! See you at the Expo and we'll book in your psyche evaluation. . . . . .

"Ever Vigilant and Emergency Cache x2 get put on Stick to the Plan at the start" The tactic cards have to be different. You csnnot have two copies of emergency cache. Looking at your deck it has to be Ever Vigilant, Emergency Cache, Dynamite Blast.

I like that you go the supply item route. I think this is very strong!

Better late than never, you should consider 1 copy of Astounding Revelation in your deck, because Stick to the Plan searches your entire deck, so it os basically a Another Day, Another Dollar.
