Silas Marsh Strategy Tips

Silas Marsh is a steadfast fighter with an emphasis on committing cards and making the most of each one. His high combat, agility, and health make him the optimal choice for dealing with enemies—whether it’s by evading them or hurling them bodily off of his boat.

Silas’s ability is extremely flexible. If you overcommit to a test and succeed by a lot, use it to return a card you committed back to your hand so you don’t waste it. If you commit a valuable card to a test and fail, use it to return that card to your hand, since you’re going to fail anyway. You can even hedge your bets and commit a card in case the test succeeds (like Overpower) and a card in case the test fails (like Predestined) and use Silas’s ability to pick up whichever one becomes unncessary based on the result!

Since Silas is very focused on committing cards to tests, this deck contains very few assets and many skills. Your signature harpoon and net are perhaps your most valuable assets. The additional bonuses granted by these two assets last throughout the test even if you return a skill to your hand! However, armed with a Flashlight and a few copies of Perception or Unexpected Courage, even Silas can gather enough clues to pull his weight.

As the cards in this deck have relatively low resource costs, there also isn’t much in the way of resource generation here. You won’t generally need lots of resources when playing as Silas. However, beware of his Siren Call—while this asset is in play, you may have to spend lots of resources in order to remain effective. This could be fine if you have enough resources to spare, but you’ll definitely want to get rid of it if you’re running low!
