Key Strategy:
Deny Existence is held in hand to counter Crisis of Faith. Period. In the event you haven't drawn a Deny Existence yet, use Rite of Sanctification to help seal the Blessings. Drawn to the Flame and Scene of the Crime carry your investigation without the need for actual checks, which will help keep those Blessings in the bag for teammates.
Upgrade Order:
Nephthys will always be your first replacement, replacing Spectral Razor (a 1-damage, 1-horror soak, +1 to Willpower, 2 passive damage easily beats a check for 2 damage). Cyclopean Hammer will be your second replacement, replacing your Sword Cane. As you bring in the hammer, consider swapping a Robes of Endless Night for a Bandolier. Holy Rosary upgrades should be next. From here, the tempo of the campaign should determine which upgrades to bring in next.

Aug 10, 2022Weaknesses with an encounter cardtype (such as enemies or treacheries) are considered to be player cards while they are in their bearer’s deck, and are considered to be encounter cards while they are being resolved, and once they have entered play. Before a weakness with an encounter cardtype is resolved, it is still considered to be a player card. |
I don't believe you can use deny existence to counter Crisis of Faith, as it says "encounter card or enemy attack".
