Hunting the Fishes

This a solo deck with a focus on combat which pulled out a win against the Innsmouth Conspiracy. It all went smoothly except for Horror in High Gear which was a total mess due to the fact that the deck is not fast enough at grabbing multiple clues.

The upgrade path I followed :

What exactly is your strategy here for willpower checks on encounter cards? It looks like a particularly nasty card of that sort might mess up the whole scenario.
