Obviously, he's the fighty one of the two. Lots of weapons, though leaving a hand free for Flashlight. Evidence! might let him grab a clue or two too. Teamwork is there to share, and hopefully gain a few resources from Lola.

Otherwise, his many job is to soak up everything. Encounter cards, enemy attacks, the works - hence Emergency Aid, True Grit, Beat Cop, Guard Dog, "If it bleeds...".

Let's just say he's a little unsophisticated.
