I always play a solo campaign behind my regular one. Open to suggestions of stuff I am not thinking of!

Nov 24, 2020Robes of Endless Night was mostly in as a damage soak with the added bonus of occasionally making spells cheaper. Plus I just don't like Painkillers for some reason. I have never tried Scroll of Secrets so I will make this my first. Are you thinking I'll be using it on myself or the encounter deck? Enraptured is yummy and I can see where I'll have more fun with it than Deduction! Uncage the Soul is something I default to when playing Mystic but you have an excellent point, unless Shrivelling is in my hand, I won't want to be seeing it. That clears the spot I needed to try the Scroll. Super excited to try this deck. If my group cancels on me I might just take it through Return to Night of the Zealot to see how it goes. Thank you SO MUCH for your suggestions. |
Nov 24, 2020Scroll I’d definitely use in the Encounter Deck (unless you’re having some real bad luck with your draw deck); with Gloria’s ability you get to stack the Encounter deck as you see fit, and in Solo it’s just crazy good!! Forewarned is forearmed so easier to plan your turn. Also, with the recent taboo changes, it’s no longer a regular action to trigger but a free action...just gets better! |
Nov 24, 2020I saw that they Taboo'd it, but sadly I don't play with taboo. Still think it will be worthwhile, though! |
I've put Scroll of Secrets into my deck, would work wonders in Gloria! Published my own deck if that gives you any ideas. Not sure if both Robes of Endless Night and Uncage the Soul are necessary; you've got 6 cards that cost more than 0 to play, yet 4 cards alone that reduce spell costs. I'd possibly jettison both, and add Painkillers (to help with that real low health, and cheaper than Robes at the cost of your higher Horror threshold)) and another card in their place. Of course, depends on what you're planning for your deck XP-wise, but I think both is probably unnecessary.
Also, Deduction may not be entirely useful. If like me, you play a lot of Solo, so many locations will only have 1 clue on it. Maybe Enraptured instead to give some extra charges to your Spell assets as you're running just the two.
