Jenny Barnes: Rogue
A combat oriented investigator that is also competent at clue gathering. Some parts of the deck favor risk and reward and combo style play.
Combat:
- Jenny's Twin .45's can have as much ammo as you want to pay for.
- Use Meat Cleaver to finish enemies off and heal horror.
- Derringers are even more useful if you can boost your combat skill with Hard Knocks to get the extra damage.
- Use Vicious blow to deal an additional damage when needed.
Investigation:
- Contraband can keep your Flashlights and Guns supplied
- Alice Luxley boost your intellect and damages enemies while you get clues.
- Leo De Luca, while expensive, gives you an additional action per turn.
- Burglary, Lone Wolf and "Watch This" provide solid economy for Hard Knocks.
- Use Scavenging after an investigation to recover one of your weapons or flashlights from the discard pile.
- use "Watch This" on a test you are very likely to pass to double your money.
Weakness:
- Attaches to the location furthest from you and requires two actions to investigate the weakness using the location's shroud, if you are successful the weakness is discarded. If it is still in play at the end of the scenario Jenny takes 1 mental trauma, meaning she starts every scenario after this with 1 Horror on her at the start.
Double or Nothing- Side notes
Double or Nothing leads to some incredibly risky combos with huge payouts, the trick is to put yourself in the best possible position to succeed, as it doubles the difficulty of the test. As such you will want to boost combat stats with Hard Knocks and committing other cards to the test. For investigation you will want to lower an already low shroud with Flashlight.
Some examples:
- Double your damage from an attack with vicious blow and a weapon for +4 damage.
- Gain 6 resources back from a burglary attempt and/or "Watch This!".
- Discover 2 clues from one Investigate action.
