I don't like fighting fair!

Hi CeeTee, Wendy's weakness Abandoned and Alone and many events make her take horror. Painkillers also inflict horror. I would suggest to you replacing 1 or 2 Painkillers with Liquid Courage.

You're forgetting Peter Sylvestre! ;)

"When an investigator is dealt damage or horror, that investigator may assign it to eligible asset cards he or she controls."

Peter will always heal the Painkiller horror at end of your turn.

IF you draw Peter first. You are using him to indirectly heal damage. What i wanted to suggest is to become independent of this combo and put in a direct horror removal tool which also works on other investigators. I think Wendy is more vulnerable to horror than to damage.

At the time i would need to use the Painkillers i have drawn a lot of cards and odds are that Peter is played at that time.

That's completely understandable, a question of timing. With Wendy, it's even more crucial due to her stats... For me, Fire Axe never paid off, i never draw it in time. Backstab and Sneak Attack are my favorite weapons now.
