After playing through NotZ many times over the last few years, trying to get my group into this game unsuccessfully, I finally decided enough was enough and jumped into the new campaign true solo. I’ve made it through so far rather well, however I am struggling in a few areas. Timing always seems to be a problem for me, so I’ve come dangerously close to the agenda deck running out each game so far, and in the case of The Secret Name, I ran out of time at least two turns before I could have finished. (Assuming everything went perfectly.)
Then, I’m having a lot of difficulty keeping my board set up. Right of seeking runs out of charges way too fast, and then costs a fortune to play another one, and Shriveling seemed to run out too fast as well. I swapped it for Song of the Dead at the end of The Secret Name hoping that the lower cost and additional charges would make up for its inconsistency as far as damage goes. Plus, I am already running a fairly large amount of cards that help with chaos bag control, so hopefully that will help.
What do you think? Anything that I should add or remove that may help? I’m sure that I’m not piloting her optimally as well, but that’s something that I can really only learn from experience.

Mar 26, 2019Sry for double post, but something that might help you, did you try Ever Vigilant to save actions when playing assets? |
Apr 11, 2019I think that I just have a stigma about volunteering to discard assets. So sacrifice wasn’t something that was on my radar. I’ll definitely have to find a place to make it fit though to get me out of my comfort zone. As for recharge, I considered it, but again, the possibility of losing the spell and wasting an action and a card terrified me. Admittedly, I am not nearly as familiar with guardian card, so I forgot that Ever Vigilant existed. I really like it though. It addresses the resources issue, as well as action economy by allowing me to play multiple assets for a single action. I will %100 be trying this one. |
Never played true solo, but i often noticed mystic assets are pretty expensive while charges can run out quickly, as you said yourself. We usually conserve charges by having other players kill enemies and investigate only with rite, when the mystic can clear a location herself (saving move actions for other ppl).
Dianas balanced stats allow her to do everything when difficulty is low (like Swarm of Rats and shroud 1).
Did you try Sacrifice and Recharge?
